Initiatives

Use the Initiatives tab to track projections for initiatives that may or may not be added to your baseline forecast. This worksheet can contain as many initiatives as you need, of different kinds, all on one sheet. Initiatives can be included in or excluded from your forecast. Completed initiatives or those no longer used can be expired so that they no longer appear in plan files or reports.

Your baseline forecast begins with historical actuals. However, there may be some new initiatives or capital purchases with operating impact (for example, Hospital expansion) that may or may not be approved, and for which you can model the incremental volume, revenue, and expense impact to determine whether the organization approves the project.

If you use the monthly input columns, you can use the months that make up the current and next quarter to plan initiatives more precisely.

You can create the following types of initiative:

  • RF Group – Use for general initiatives that involve one RFGroup. Non-admin users can approve Group initiatives.

  • RF Project – Use for projects that need administrator approval. Users can select an initiative from a list predefined in the RFID dimension table.

The type of initiative determines who can approve the initiative. If you create an RF Group initiative, non-admin users can control the approval on the plan file Initiatives tab. If you create an RF Project initiative, the RF Admin controls the approval of the initiative in the RFID dimension table.
